"Not as crazy as talking ... and not doing ..." - Last Word Bookstore

“When you sell a man a book you don’t sell him just twelve ounces of paper and ink and glue – you sell him a whole new life. Love and friendship and humor and ships at sea by night – there’s all heaven and earth in a book, a real book.” - Christopher Morley from the novel “Parnassus on Wheels”

I've come a little late to The Last Word Bookstore. Not too late.  It opened just over six months ago. My wife and I just stumbled upon it about three weeks ago.

First class place. It's not overrun with books, but what it has is quality - not just literature that says something, both new title and classics, but also nonfiction that focuses on social issues and human growth.  My first trip in, I blew away all of my discipline and bought six books. My wife bought eight.  Fiction, lit, biography, women's studies, social action. Books that mattered. Books that added to the world, to insight, understanding, and action.

Kudos to Paul Combs - may his enterprise thrive. May my wife and I - and you - buy many, many books from him.
